With the new fancy xml file... could it be possible to make a .m3u playlist and info.txt (diz whatever) from the info given about the release as well as the reviews when I download a whole zip? It would be really nice if everything as it appears on the download page could be already in the zip when I download it. I would like to have this information handy so I can search through the info txt files that I make for each release. Another feature I think would be useful would be when you choose the .zip to download... have an option where winxp people can have a "folder.jpg" put in the archive so you don't have to rename the small cover images ;)

Thanks for reading,
David

You can auto-create a playlist in M3U, ASX or SMIL using the bookmarklet at http://webjay.org/playthispage .

Thanks for the reply, I tried using the bookmarklet and it makes a playlist pointing to the webpage urls from archive.org. I would like something that takes the songnames and makes it a playlist (like from the xml file) when I download a release as a "whole directory" or zip.

However, this still doesn't solve the problem with .nfo files in releases. I don't know how much trouble it would be to make a script (that resides on archive.org or a utility that users can download) that just dumps the release info in a text file and takes the smaller images in the release (if applicable) or need be just the big cover file and rename it to folder.jpg so winxp can see it as an album.

Here's an example of an info text file that explains more what I'm looking for:

[sual006a] : bubzigohn - the left-hand path to jahweh's doorstep February 13th, 2004

Hailing from Orlando, Bubzigohn's musical tentacles extend toward elements of avant-pop, space rock, and anti-folk. His first EP, "The Left-Hand Path to Jahweh's Doorstep" is a seditious rock-opera response to American culture, spun with a mixture of standard instrumentation, synthetic textures, and a swank fetish for nonmusical objects.

A Joe's Garage-esque exposé on the common man, "Jahweh" focuses on Harry, a burrito enthusiast who watches the war in Iraq on TV. Harry works a lowly tech-support job, indulges in internet dating, and occasionally dips into deconstructing the flaws of humanity. Given Bubzigohn's usual knack for the glitchy-chic, the material is a thought-provoking and well-executed musical oeuvre at whose heart lays the classic, good-natured desire to save your soul... or, at the very least, to reprogram your brain waves, you corporate slave.

The above example was created by copying and pasting the release info as given by archive.org

So basically, to sum things up in a nutshell, in a typical release zip I would like to have:

[mp3s]
Artist Name - Release Name.m3u (or something)
folder.jpg (so winxp treats the image as a folder image)
...and any additional files that come with the release normally like the .xml files and such
